Mirror Portrait

This is my most complex portrait to date. It was drawn during January 2010... I'd say it took about 30 hours, total. The hair alone took about 7. I drew it entirely from the mirror and shaded most of it by referencing the mirror. I used some photo references in places, such as the folds under my right arm (being right handed made it impossible to draw because they kept changing!). I actually took progress shots for this one! As usual, I apologize for the quality of my photos... Really need to do something about that. This is a graphite drawing. I was really happy with this in January, but now, not so much.

This one is from January 2008. What a difference a year can make!
